The Commissioner, Ministry of International Donor Coordination, Elder Dr. Hippolatus Ogar Lukpata has informed that Governor Bassey Otu is Deliberate with his Development Policies in the State with the sole objective of even development and his efforts has attracted over #10bn investments through different interventions by development partners across the State.
He disclosed this while presenting achievements of the Ministry for the year 2025 as a way of motivating development partners and for them to assess if records are properly documented and preserved towards accountability.
He said the administration of His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu values the contributions of development partners and is ready to provide the needed support and environment for the implementation of their interventions in different areas.
According to the commissioner, from his personal observations, a lot of successes have been recorded but the reports are not documented because some of the different programmes and projects resist submitting the amount they received as sponsorship from their founders to the Ministry for no reason.
He chronicled the different projects and programmes that submitted their drawdown and the specific amount they were able to bring for development purposes in the State while calling on those that think it's not necessary for them to report about their drawdown to change their mindsets and see themselves as co-labourers in the State progress.
He reiterated that the 2005 Abuja AID Coordination declaration put implementing States at the driver's seat making it mandatory for projects and programmes to align their interventions with the State priorities.
In his contributions, the alternate chairman and General Manager, Community and Social Development Agency Mr Collins Edet described the report from MIDC as very motivational and called on partners to be more committed to the coordination mandate of the Ministry as it will enhance mutual benefits.
Adding his voice, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Dr Balingwo Ofegobi informed that the ministry's Web site and members are free to send in only certified information for publishing.
