The State Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer CRS Planning Commission Dr. Bong Duke has affirmed that His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu is the people's Governor and is investing in the people through policies and programmes to avoid wastage of scarce resources. He stated this when he received the team lead, Guru Innovation Hup an ICT Consult in his office SPC, New Secretariat Complex Calabar on a courtesy visit.
Dr. Duke said SPC has the mandate to initiate innovations in the State Development plans, while informing that the State has proposed the preparation of 12 thousand hecters of land across the 3 Senatorial District for mechanize agriculture. He further informed that the State received one of the least allocation from the FG but due to proper planning the State is always getting good results.
According to Duke, the State is going to give land titles to rural farmers as away of empowering them to have value for their lands, adding that, Tinapa will be back to live in a few months as the Government of His Excellency Prince Bassey Otu is not ready to take up new projects for now.
That the administration is ready to revive the system including the State Civil Service to enable Civil Servants enjoy dignitary of labour and further informed that the Government is also considering the construction of new housing scheme for Civil Servants.
The vice chairman also revealed that the future of the Civil Service will witness the deployment of time management system to address lateness to work by some Civil Servants and address other challenges that confront the service.
He affirmed that there are many areas to invest including the digital space which will enhance a lot of collaborations within and outside the State and nation.
Earlier, the leader of the team Mr. Oyo Effiom said they feel excited with the appointment of Pastor Dr. Bong Duke as the State Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer CRS Planning Commission with his experiences Cross Riverians will derive value in his services to the State
According to Mr. Effiom, his organization Guru Innovation Hup feel the Government Should not be drivers of industries but the private sectors while Government concentrate on creating conducive environment for investors and collect taxes as they regulate companies operations.
He expressed dismay that at this age and time Government is still considering deploying heavy duty machines instead of modern ones that are small in terms of cost and sizes to enable private individuals buy them and operate it with ease.
He further said his organization offers multiple services including training of youths in ICT and engage in research on innovations and new ideas or ways of resolving problems for individuals and corporate bodies.
