The Director General Cross River State Rural Development Agency (RUDA) Comr. Agbor Bassey Njar has commended His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu for the success of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign rally held at the U. J. Esuene stadium Calabar. That the success of the event and the turn out of Cross Riverians to receive The President Federal Republic of Nigeria clearly indicates that Mr. Governor is in touch with the people.
Mr Agbor, who bare his mind in his office, RUDA Complex, Marian Road Calabar cited the security and safety of all Cross Riverians which were guaranteed before, during and after including their safety on the road was well coordinated.
He called on Cross Riverians to continue to support the Governor by renewing his term in office come 2027 election as a way of consolidating the Democratic gains and good governance currently enjoyed in the State courtesy of the people's first mantra.
In his words, four years is not enough for proper assessment of the Governor's performance due to the processes involved in policy formulation, realignment and implementation, some of them require more time to be visible, therefore the Governor deserves more than four years to implement some of the Programmes he has initiated.
Commenting on the activities of opposition parties challenging the candidacy of His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet, he affirmed that in democracy the multi party system is the tradition but expressed doubt on the credibility of any opposition party defeating the incumbent in election due to the visible achievements of the Governor.
The DG cited how the Governor has taken good governance to the rural communities through access roads, quality health care services, security of lives and property including massive human empowerment at different times, adding that the only way for continuous development of the State is the return of Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu as Governor of Cross River State for the second tenure.
